Sweet as Honey!

This was my first time ever going to a needlepoint store, as my best friend bought me a canvas to get started. I was overwhelmed at first by the selection and honestly the cuteness of everything. But the staff was so extremely helpful and kind! The only reason I give it 4 stars is I think there thread selection could be a little better now that I have been to more stores but honestly the selection of canvases and needle minders are so good! Also keep in mind the parking lot is quite small however, still such a great experience and I make it a point to visit every time I’m in Houston!

From threads to canvases and all the supplies it was a day i wish i could have spent hours at. Will always come here if I find myself in Houston again.

Happy, hip vibes at Howdy Honey

Howdy Honey is located in what feels like a darling little house with warm, happy, hip vibes. They showcase a big selection of canvases of all sizes in a small space and they have a good variety of fibers. The staff had great recommendations about threads that could work well with my canvases. I loved how they had examples showing how much each thread brand could cover on various mesh sizes - super helpful to see when shopping! It’s also awesome they are open seven days a week!

Howdy Honey is the first needlepoint shop I ever went to. It’s a cute little house with a decent selection of canvases and they’ve recently grown their selection of fibers. It’s not the easiest shop to move around in if you’re a mom with your little one. The location is definitely not stroller friendly (even with a compact travel stroller) and it’s rather difficult to try to flip through the stacks of canvases when juggling a two year old in one of your arms. They do get really busy which can also make parking a bit challenging at times. As for the team there, it obvious that they enjoy all things needlepoint and they’re willing to assist you in anyway they can. I tend to browse their available canvases online before deciding to go as lately the canvas selection hasn’t had anything that has truly grabbed my attention. With that said, they do keep their website very up-to-date with everything having a photo which is a big plus as I’ve seen other needlepoint shops that will have canvases listed but no photo available. Howdy Honey is worth the visit, especially if you are looking for small canvases / weekend canvases.
